Software:
The following options are available for downloading NatQuery.

  • Option 1 - Single File Download ~ recommended installation
Use this option to either initially install NatQuery, or to install a newer version over an existing NatQuery install.

  • Option 2 - Auto Update Download
Please: Do not use this option for initial download of 6.0.X
Unless your site is currently using version 4.3.3 or higher, please use Option 1 above.  See General Notes below for more information

This option downloads the automatic update file of NatQuery that will allow an administrator to automatically “roll-out” a new version of NatQuery to NatQuery users residing on a LAN. This option should be used by Administrators who currently have an installation of NatQuery but wish to update this version to a newer version of NatQuery.

  • Option 3 - Download Replacement EXE
    Please:
Do not use this option for initial download of 6.0.X
Unless your site is currently using version 4.3.3 or higher, please use Option 1 above.  See General Notes below for more information

Use this option to replace an older NatQuery.exe file with the latest version.

Click here for General Notes on the above downloads.

Option 1 - Single File Download
This option downloads the NatQuery as a single NatQuery installation file.  Perform the following:

  1. Left-Click on this link
This action will invoke a Save As dialog box where you can either RUN or SAVE the NatQuery installer to disk.  We suggest using the SAVE option to download a file called Install_NatQuery.exe.

Choosing the Save button will allow you to download the .exe file into the directory of your choice, we recommend the use of a “Temp” directory.

  2. Execute Install_NatQuery.exe
When the download of the file Install_NatQuery.exe is complete, the user should utilize Windows Explorer to navigate to the directory into which Install_NatQuery.exe was downloaded.  Double-clicking this file will begin the install process.

During the install, and in situations where NatQuery was previously installed, the installer will immediately ask if it is ok to uninstall the previous application.  This is expected behavior, and the user should indicate that the previous installation should be uninstalled.  An uninstall will not affect the operation of NatQuery subsequent to the new install being completed - I. E., all previously existing configuration information, queries and output will remain from the previous install.

Option 2 - Auto Update Download
Unless your site is currently using  version 5.3.0 or higher, please use Option 1 above.  See General Notes below for more information.
This option downloads the automatic update file of NatQuery that will allow an administrator to automatically “roll-out” a new version of NatQuery to NatQuery users residing on a LAN. This option should be used by Administrators who have a current installation of NatQuery and wish to update this version to a newer version of NatQuery.

Important Note about Auto Update:
Due to our ongoing  product development it became necessary to provide our clients with a “new” executable file for the Automatic Update option to function correctly.  This new executable should be used to replace any existing executable used for versions below 4.3.3  If your site is not running a new installation (Option 1) of the May 2006 version 4.3.3 or a higher version, please install this new executable using the steps below.

1a. Click the following link; exeupdat.zip and select, Open.
     2a.
Once downloaded, the exeupdat.zip should be unzipped to create the exeupdat.exe, with
this file then being used to either replace the existing file of the same name, usually found in
the C / Program Files / NatQuery directory.  You may then proceed with the instructions
shown below.  If you have encountered any problems or have question please contact
            NatWorks.

Please follow the steps outlined below to download the latest NatQuery auto update file.

  1. Download and Save the file NQ604.zip into a convenient directory.
  2. Using Windows Explorer or a similar utility, either create or select a directory to unzip
NQ604.zip into.  For reference purposes, these instructions will assume that the name of this directory is TEMP.
  3. Unzip NQ601.zip into TEMP.  This will create a single file in the TEMP directory named NQ604.aud.
  4. Using an Administrative version of NatQuery, execute the Automatic Update function of NatQuery; this option is accessed by clicking on the Administer / Automatic Update menu.
  5. The Browse button will allow you to navigate to the TEMP directory holding the NQ604aud file.
  6. Clicking the Deploy Update button and then the OK button will initiate the Automatic Update process.

General Notes on Downloadable Files

With the release of NatQuery version 5.3.0 and all subsequent versions, NatQuery has been enhanced to support Secured File Transfer Protocol (FTPS) for Implicit and Explicit processing, in addition to supporting normal FTP communication to remote platforms.  This enhancement necessitates the installation of a “full” version of the product for proper functionality.

NatQuery version 4.3.0 and higher include a Schedule Submission module which necessitates a “full” installation.  The full installation process (including the unistallation of your present version of NatQuery) will not delete your environment configuration nor your saved queries.  Queries created in version 4.3.0 will not be usable in earlier versions of NatQuery.  It is recommended that prior to installation of version 4.3.0 a complete back up be made of your present Query directory.  Please note that when running multiple versions of NatQuery it is recommended that they DO NOT share query paths.

The May 2006 release of NatQuery version 4.3.3 includes a new exeupdat.exe for the Automatic Update option that must be present for the Automatic Update function to operate correctly.

  1. Some Downloadable Files are “Zipped”
Some of the downloadable files are compressed using the PKZIP utility of PKWARE, Inc.  In order to install the NatQuery software, you will need to first decompress the file(s) using the PKUNZIP utility.  This utility can be downloaded by accessing the PKWARE website.
  2. Downloaded Files Are Scanned for Viruses
All Downloadable files have been checked with McAfee anti-virus software immediately prior to uploading.  While NatWorks makes every effort to insure that the software we make available on our website is free of viruses, it must be understood that the ultimate responsibility to insure that files you download from the internet are virus-free rests with you.
  3. Un-Installing
NatQuery software can be easily removed from a workstation by using the Add / Remove Programs function found under Start / Settings / Control Panel.  To then completely remove all remaining traces of NatQuery from a system, delete the NatQuery installation folder, usually located in C:\Program Files \ NatQuery.  These actions will completely remove NatQuery.
  4. License Keys
The use of NatQuery software is controlled by a “License Key”.  You may execute the NatQuery software without a valid License Key, however in this case NatQuery will only execute as a “demo” version (with the limitations as described below).  To operate any version of NatQuery 2.4.0 or higher in any mode other than “Demo”, you must first obtain a valid License Key from NatWorks, Inc.  Information on obtaining a Trial License is available through the NatWorks Software Request Form.
  5. Restrictions in the Demo Version
The use of a “Demo” version of NatQuery is limited to only allowing extract generation against the Software AG “standard” demo files of EMPLOYEES / VEHICLES and SAG-TOURS.  A “Demo” version prohibits the use of specific Administration features and functions that allow NatQuery to be customized for a specific ADABAS / Natural environment.
